I had an absolutely amazing first (full) day in New York! I met up with my dear friend Jasmine from C’est Classique and we hit the shops on 5th avenue to do some major damage! After that, it was tea time at Bergdorf Goodman’s!

I set an early alarm for my first full day in the Big Apple for one big reason: Shopping.

I was absolutely thrilled, because I wouldn’t just be exploring some of the most fashionable streets in the world for myself, but I’d also be joined by my close friend Jasmine from C’est Classique! She is studying at NYU, and we have been planning my visit to NY for some time now – and it was finally happening!

We started off with some power food at a lovely cafe close to Jasmine’s residence! She got the most delicious looking oatmeal, and I ordered some amazing granola/yogurt/fresh fruit which was exactly what we needed! Unfortunately, we forgot the importance of taking blog pictures before destroying a plate of food, and so it was too late to capture the beauty of our food. Rest assured, it was very good!

While at the restraunt, I also had the pleasure of meeting a few of Jasmine’s school friends and they were absolutely fabulous! They joined us as we set out on 5th avenue!

An absolute must-see for me was Zara! I am absolutely in love with their clothes, and I wanted to see what I could find that we don’t have in our Edmonton stores! I ended up buying an amazing spring trench, and 2 pairs of boots! Very worthwhile trip indeed! I also purchased some adorable shorts from Club Monaco – perfect for summer in Edmonton!

We continued down the strip, and enjoyed the sunny weather as we shopped – which was an added bonus!

As we continued walking, we passed by the absolutely beautiful New York Public Library building. I took a few shots of the architecture!

After some much needed shopping and chatting time, Jasmine and I decided it was time to make it down to Bergdorf Goodman’s for our 3:00pm tea time reservation! Once we arrived, we were delighted at the beauty and history of the building! We made our way up to the 7th floor and enjoyed incredible views of central park and had some amazing tea and finger foods!

Delicious sweets!

Yum!

These didn’t last very long…

Such a lovely presentation!

So glad to finally have some tea!

Tasty finger sandwiches!

The food that they served during tea time at Bergdorf Goodman’s was absolutely delicious – and very fresh! I highly recomend that anyone visiting NYC make reservations ahead of time and enjoy this experience for yourself! Tea time is $35USD per person, but very well worth it considering the quality of the tea, food, and of course the venue!

My first full day in NYC was so incredibly memorable in so many ways, which I thank Jasmine for! It is very good to go around with someone who is familiar with the city, because you can enjoy some of the things a first time tourist (like myself) might otherwise miss.

Clothes were bought, tea was sipped, and sun was enjoyed! A great day for sure – One that I will always remember!
