Edmonton City Centre Mall threw an excellent evening of fashion, wine and mingling at their White Night event on June 23!
As always I was joined by my fabulous blog friends Janis and Marie and we enjoyed a fantastic night of fashion and awareness to an important cause! I also ran into Kristin Reid, who is the marketing coordinator for City Centre as well as a long time friend. She was the one that sent out the invites to many local bloggers and helped make this event happen with great success! Style Guy Jared was also in attendance and he joined in on some fabulous conversation amongst bloggers!

The central idea behind the event was to raise awareness and help prevent domestic abuse – something which is too often a neglected topic. Many well-known and up and coming local designers were asked to contribute a garment which incorporated a white ribbon as the unifying theme. These dresses, along with other City Centre Mall retailer goodies, are being auctioned off online in support of the Alberta Council of Women’s Shelters.
The night consisted of what was essentially a two-part fashion show. The first half showcased many of their fabulous retailers with clean, bright, all-white fashions from the current summer season.
The second half was their feature of the night where the locally designed dresses came down the runway for everyone to enjoy. If you happened to be watching and decided you wanted one of the dresses for yourself, all you had to do was start bidding on their computer system as part of the silent auction. The auction is also online for those who weren’t at the show but want a piece of the fashion!
