The Fall 2011 hgw* photo shoot is finally here! After returning to the drawing board several times, the final editorial spread is complete. I can finally lift the curtain of secrecy and share the photos with everyone. Let me just say they have been an absolute joy to produce and I will always appreciate all the help and support I receive from all of my friends and readers!

Let’s get right to the hgw* looks for Fall fashion in 2011! These outfits, along with the hair and makeup can carry you right through into the winter season and holiday months simply by adding layers where necessary.

End.

The amazing clothes you see were all provided by Firoz in West Edmonton Mall, along with American Apparel on Whyte Avenue. Whatever your budget, you can recreate these looks for yourself by choosing some great items at these stores. Even though Firoz has some more expensive garments, they are very well worth it considering that they are all investments. Vivienne Westwood and DVF pieces will stand the test of time and their quality will always set them apart which makes it well worth the purchase price. Also, when you need that perfect basic look no further than American Apparel. Not only do they have every style, length, size, and fit you could possibly look for they also provide you with a wide array of color choices to complete your next great outfit. It is because of these great stores that I was so thrilled to work with stylist Janis Galloway to bring you this great fashion for the Fall 2011 season!

It was an absolute pleasure to have the privilege of shooting the photos at Fort Edmonton Park. It was the perfect venue for this shoot, and as an added bonus we had the entire location to ourselves that day. Their staff was so accommodating and helpful which helped ease the stress of getting the photos complete. A big thank you to Rod Proudfoot and his team at Fort Edmonton for providing this incredible location!

Post production is always the hardest part of a photo shoot because you need to be hyper critical in choosing which shots to apply to the final editorial. After returning to the drawing board a few times Scot and Jules, very close friends of mine, were such an outstanding help. They really helped me finalize the shots and the story line which focused my mind – which is often quite scrambled with blurs of inspiration. Thanks again for all of the editing and post production help Scot and Jules!

Also, I would like to thank the amazing stylists at SacreBlue Salon, who happen to be my coworkers, for their hard work and awesome job with hair and makeup. Great stylists, and great products like Kevin Murphy and Jane Iredale Makeup are all available for purchase at SacreBlue and were all critical elements in making this shoot totally polished! If you want to recreate any of the hair or makeup looks from the shoot visit SacreBlue Salon on 8111 104st. which is just off Whyte Ave. or phone them at (780) 435-1840!

Again, a huge thank you to Janis Galloway, fellow Edmonton blogger, who was an absolutely crucial member of this shoot! From our first meeting about the shoot she knew exactly what I was envisioning and we made an absolutely great pair! She is an awesome wardrobe stylist, and without her experience in wardrobe styling we wouldn’t have had a wardrobe at all – let alone one from Firoz and American Apparel. Always a pleasure to work with you, Janis!

And of course a big thank you to all of the models, who all took time out of their schedules to join me for this shoot. Monica Falcos also let me grab some amazing clothes and accessories from her wardrobe which was so great. She has an excellent vintage pieces which added that extra flare to the outfits. I also can’t forget to thank Selina Costa for being an incredible barista at Starbucks. She helped me out so much by providing me with coffee to stay focused! They were all so amazing to work with!

I hope that this photo shoot helped inspire you to start shopping for some fabulous outfits to wear as the thermometer slowly inches towards zero-degrees. Just because it’s cold outside doesn’t mean our style needs to freeze over as well. In fact, finding some hot fall/winter clothes to love wearing this year will help heat up the season, and your personal style!
